3rd paper flower [Text]

[Konan is far from a social butterfly, but on occasion she's been making an effort to reach out to others in Luceti. Since the weather is nice and there are plenty of flowers in bloom, she decides to ask if there's anyone out there who shares her lesser known hobby.]

Out of curiosity, how many people here in Luceti have an interest in flower pressing? Specifically, who already presses flowers as a hobby, and who would be interested in learning how it's done?

[She's not going to immediately offer to demonstrate at Art Club, though she will teach how it's done if Rapunzel or Ikki asks her to.]

Can I see them sometime? And I'll show you the ones I'll make. I want to decorate my house with them.

I'd like that.

[Because although she has trouble actually verbalizing it, she really would like to befriend Kushina.]

When would you like to visit and see them?

[Hopefully she doesn't hear, but Kushina releases a relieved sigh. Skipping rocks only went so far.

There's a bit of sound as she begins searching for the things she needed to press flowers.

Would a rolling pin work? Well, she sets it aside to use anyway.]

After I finish mine. I want to give you something.

Are you going to give me a hint as to what that something is, or do I have to wait and see?

[She doubts it. It seems to be meant as a surprise. It's nice, though, that Kushina wants to do something like that.]

It's more fun when you have to guess, isn't it?

[Though it should be obvious. Kushina wants to give her some of her pressed flowers when she finishes them.]

You have a point.

[Konan can guess, though she's not going to assume.]

[So she's been told, countless times by Minato.]

I'll keep you guessing until I visit then.

I'll keep guessing and perhaps have a surprise of my own for you.

[This is more likely to be origami than pressed flowers, but she might go for a bouquet of origami flowers. It seems fitting, since she once gave Naruto one.]

[she tells herself it's a GOOD SURPRISE and not a bad one despite what she knows about Konan

she's learning other stuff too -- and Konan isn't a bad person, first of all]

I know. But I'd like to give you something nonetheless.

[It's not very subtle, but it's better to ask openly rather than trying to discover the answer more secretively and have that misinterpreted.]

What is your favourite animal?

[now she has to wonder what in the world it could be because when it comes to guessing and surprises she isn't shrewd like Minato could be

Kushina blinks. She had never thought about what her favorite animal was. When she does though, she thinks about her home in the Village of Eddies and sitting on a dock to watch the whirlpools. In the calmer waters, she would see thousands of colorful fish that lived in the reef and reminded her of rainbows in the water.

She remembers sitting on that dock with her mother and sticking her feet in, having all those little fish nibble on her toes and how they tickled her.]

Little fish.

[They were slimey and used mainly for food but the schools of color in the water were happy memories. She didn't think she had a preference but when she thinks of that feeling again, it's happy.

Like her time with Minato and Naruto. And now maybe even with Konan, too.]

Colorful ones.

[Colourful little fish? She can do that. If she can find some blue cellophane, she may even simulate water. Konan's fond of fish, too, although she likes them moreso for eating than anything else. Her favourite food is flame broiled fish.]

Duly noted. When would be a good time to meet?

[Indirectly, she's asking so she'll know how much time she has to prepare her surprise.]

Oh. Uh, during the day sometime. Anytime.

You can come over here. Don't worry, I'll tell Minato this time.

And you stay for dinner, if you like.

How about in the afternoon in one week? I will bring snacks.

[She doesn't want to impose on the Uzumakis for dinner, not just yet. But a short visit, with tea and snacks is less of a bother. Minato may be doing his best to live up to the expectations of him as Hokage, but he's human and she knows he's not comfortable with her presence yet. Tolerant and civil, but not comfortable. Hopefully, with advanced notice they'd be able to avoid an unpleasant situation.]

Okay. Let's see... I'm pretty sure I'll be home most of the time. So just, send me a message on this thing.

And maybe I can get Minato to leave the house with Naruto and make it easier on you both.

I can send a message...there's no reason to have him leave, though.

[She doesn't want Minato to have to leave the house on her account. It just seems like she's imposing with her visit, even if Kushina's intention is to make everyone more comfortable. She does note, though, that he hasn't tried to forbid Naruto from talking to either her or Nagato. That's probably for the best. Naruto is a stubbornly determined person.]

We could always meet at a neutral location if my presence still makes him uncomfortable.

[fervidity]

Yeah, there is.

When I said make it easier, I meant I don't have to kick him out. I want to spend time with you without him interrupting.

[With his watchful eyes. Naruto was included. This was time for her and Konan to bond.

Kushina is just as stubborn as Naruto.]

[Konan is quickly discovering where Naruto gets his stubborn side from, and it makes her smile, just a bit.]

As long as I'm not imposing, then.
