Name: Konan
Fandom: Naruto
Gender: Female
Age:Konan's age is never stated in canon, but based on other events in the canon timeline, she's more than likely between the age of 28-35. Fansites estimate anywhere between 25-40. I'll go with 31.
Time Period: Right as she's dying in episode 253 of Naruto Shippuden
Wing Color: White with blue tips
History: Right here
Personality:
One of Konan's greatest attributes is her loyalty and devotion. If she loves someone and believes in them, she will dedicate her time and energy toward helping that person in whatever way she can. In the past, when shown thinking of her friends as the bridge to peace, she vows to herself that she will be a pillar that supports them. Konan doesn't see herself as a leader and she doesn't care about personal glory. If she can help the people who matter to her, that's good enough for her. Konan only rises to lead Amegakure, her village, after Nagato has died since she had already functioned as his second in command prior to that. Even then, she takes over leadership of the village because it is her legacy and responsibility, rather than out of any desire to hold the position. Nagato has entrusted that Naruto would bring peace to the world, and Konan vows to be the pillar that will support Naruto. When acting as Nagato's second in command, Konan is shown using her papers to keep tabs on the village. She also functions as an intermediary - citizens of Amegakure call her "God's Angel", both because of the paper wings she sometimes dons, and because she delivers Nagato's orders to them. She is one of the only people to know that "Pain" is actually Nagato and what he truly looks like (emaciated and with chakra rods in his body that allow him to control dead bodies and channel his power through them).
Konan has a ruthless and calculating side, though it tends to be reserved for people who threaten the people who are precious to her. When Tobi/Madara comes to claim her friend Nagato's corpse, Konan is well prepared. She is even prepared to sacrifice herself to prevent her friend's grave from being disturbed. Having anticipated that he would try to trap her with his teleportation technique, she mixes exploding papers into the papers composed of her own body so she can blow him up. When that fails, she reveals that she had amassed six hundred billion exploding papers that she stored in the large lake in her village, to prepare for eventually killing him. The simulations she ran and the effort she put into observing the limitations of Tobi/Madara's techniques show the extent that Konan is willing to go to in order to protect her loved ones from threats, even post-mortem. When Nagato willingly worked with Tobi/Madara, Konan co-operated out of loyalty to Nagato. However, once Nagato was willing to go against him, Konan betrayed the dangerous man in a heartbeat.
Konan is an intelligent person who prefers observing and strategizing rather than charging headlong into danger. Her abilities have been developed for both information gathering and for combat because she recognizes the value of both, though she leans more toward information gathering. After all, the best way to observe someone's combative strengths and weaknesses is to observe them while they're unaware they are being watched. She is stoic and calm, maintaining a level head instead of acting rashly. She'll evaluate the situation and take calculated risks. Konan pays attention to her surroundings and it's difficult (though not impossible) to sneak up on her.
Konan has a compassionate side. The Darwinist life of ninja in her world where only the fittest survive has toned this down and hardened her, but even that harsh lifestyle hasn't completely destroyed Konan's kinder traits. As a child, even though she and Yahiko were starving, she saved Nagato and his dog and welcomed them. As thanks for Jiraiya feeding her, Yahiko and Nagato, she makes him an origami flower out of the wrapper. Years later, after Yahiko and Nagato are both dead, it's revealed that Konan laid their bodies on thousands of origami flowers she made herself, in a dry and sunny place (Yahiko had always hated how it was always raining in their village). As a symbol of peace and her willingness to accept Nagato's final wish to believe in Naruto's ideals, Konan offers Naruto a bouquet of origami flowers to express her intention to maintain peaceful relations with Konoha and to show that she was done with the Akatsuki organization.
Konan is a person who strives for peace, and considers herself expendable if it means furthering that goal. Her favorite word is "order". Konan appears to have some spiritual inclinations, most likely due to Nagato possessing the power of the Sage of the Six Paths, which effectively made him something akin to a mortal god. Her nickname of "God's Angel" and the name of her most powerful attack "Sacred Paper Emissary" are also indicators of this.
Although she isn't a shy person, Konan is quiet and somewhat introverted. Her preferred hobbies are origami and flower pressing, which are both quiet hobbies that can be done without the company of others. She tends to say very little around groups, and tends to open up more in one on one interactions, or in small groups of no more than four. Konan is not one for using crass language - even when telling off Tobi/Madara, she doesn't use swear words and instead calls him "Darkness" and tells him he's been riding on Akatsuki's coattails.
Strengths:
Physical: Konan has had extensive combat and espionage training and experience. However, her primary abilities center around paper based jutsu. These are techniques that use her chakra (energy that develops from training the mind and body) to manipulate paper in a variety of ways. Konan's mastery over paper jutsu is to the point that she can turn her body and clothing into thousands of sheets of paper, break apart and reform herself. This technique is called Dance of the Shikigami. Konan is able to control all of these sheets of paper, and she can manipulate the colour and shape to the point that she can create convincing replicas of natural surroundings, such as trees. She can also use this technique as an extension of her senses, and use little paper butterflies (or even paper clones of herself) for spying purposes. In addition to manipulating the colour and shape of paper infused with her chakra, Konan can manipulate how hard and sharp it is. Paper infused with Konan's chakra can have the durability of steel and she is able to make weapons such as shuriken, arrows, or chakram out of it. It will not break apart when wet, and it is flame resistant. Finally, Konan can use seals to make some papers capable of exploding when activated. These explosions are small, with a blast radius that could be contained in an average sized bedroom.
Mental: Konan is highly intelligent and perceptive. She has a strategic mind and is capable of analyzing an opponent's abilities and determining their weaknesses and limitations through observation. She knows how to sort through what information is useful and what is frivolous when information gathering. Although she doesn't have much personal ambition, she does know how to plan for the future. Amegakure village is also shown as the most industrialized ninja village, in spite of being one of the more recently established villages. As someone who has served as the second in command to the village's leader and as an intermediary between him and the rest of the people, Konan would have been involved in the village's rapid growth on some level - at least as far as reviewing information, passing it on to Nagato/Pain for approval, and handling other concerns. Konan may have no interest in taking on a leadership role, but her attention to detail and intelligence coupled with her reserved nature make her a great second in command.
Emotional: Konan is a person who can endure loss with composure, and apply the memory of her loved ones to fulfilling their dreams. For her, dwelling on the past means focusing her energy on achieving the goals her friends didn't have the chance to. Konan has managed to hold on to much of the compassionate nature she showed in her childhood, though some of that has been tempered by growing up in the brutal world she's lived in. Konan is a person who ultimately desires peace, and she isn't naive about her pursuit of it.
Weaknesses:
Physical: Sticky substances like oil or glue can prevent Konan from using her paper abilities. She's also limited to the amount of chakra she has in her body. Over-expending one's chakra can render one comatose, or in extreme cases, kill (Konan's Sacred Paper Emissary technique uses enough to have her on her knees trying to catch her breath after it's finished). Using significantly more paper than her own body mass' worth can be exhausting. Although she has had combat training, Konan is not especially skilled hand to hand combat. Her abilities are far more suited to ranged attacks, and if she was forced into a hand to hand situation against a skilled martial artist, she'd probably lose. In fact, when fighting Tobi/Madara, that's exactly what happens. She dominates the fight and leaves him entirely on the defensive at a distance. Both of his successful attacks on her are at close range - the first when she believes there's no way he could have survived (the man does warp reality in order to do so), and the second when he dodges or deflects all of her attacks as she's taking her last stand and finally closes in to grab her by the throat.
Mental: Having grown up in a violent, war-torn country, Konan has considerably less problem with violent acts to achieve a good result than the average person. As far as she has seen, fighting for peace and order is what actually achieves results. Konan's concept of diplomacy would be very different than a person who has lived in a more or less peaceful world. As an example, when she is leaving Konoha after the devastating attack on it, she hands Naruto a bouquet of paper flowers and announces that she is done with the Akatsuki organization. She tells him that Amegakure will help make his dreams come true, and that she hopes that her bouquet will be Naruto's flowers of hope that never die. However, she isn't shown making any attempt to help the citizens of Konoha repair their severely damaged village. It's all well and good that she's announced that she and her village won't cause further problems, but they're left with her word and some paper flowers. Konan really isn't much of a diplomat.
Emotional: Personality-wise, one of Konan's weaknesses is that she lacks personal ambition. She's devoted so much of her life to her friends' goals and well-being that she doesn't really have any goals beyond maintaining their legacy. Her memories have had such a strong impact on who she's become that she dwells on them instead of focusing on the future or developing much of a life beyond the goals she inherited from her friends. Her bonds with her friends Yahiko and Nagato were so strong and significant to her that she hasn't taken the time to form any strong bonds since then. Although she's well known in her village Amegakure, she doesn't have a strong connection to any of its remaining inhabitants. Konan's devotion means that she won't hesitate to sacrifice her own life in the name of a cause. While this can be admirable, it also shows a below-average regard for her own life.

First Person:
Q & A, please!
Third Person:
Although accustomed to being able to manipulate paper with ease, sometimes Konan liked to practice origami in the traditional way, just to see what she could make without cheating. It was also a good way to ease her troubled mind. Not only had she failed to kill Madara, but she was inexplicably alive. She could sense that she had less chakra than before, as well. Had it been used to revive her? Would she regain it in time? She didn't know.
As peaceful as Luceti appeared, it was a troubling place. Finding a barcode on her neck wasn't reassuring, nor was the detailed explanation in the journal guide. Konan couldn't help but appreciate the irony of the wings, though. For one who'd been called "god's angel" by the citizens of Amegakure, it seemed fitting. Her shoulder blades still ached from having the wings put there, but she'd been assured it would pass within a day or so. If only everything else had been as reassuring, she might have been in a better state of mind. Her fingers worked deftly on the little paper craft. Although flowers were her favourite, today, she was making birds and other animals. As she worked, the orgami colection grew into a veritable paper menagerie. Perhaps she could use them to start a conversation whenever she eventually did address the citizens of Luceti for more information. First, though, she was going to try and learn if Madara was here. It was unwise to reveal her presence in Luceti while she was weakened without determining if he was here. What she wanted to ask about most of all were resistance efforts, but she wasn't foolish enough to ask about it openly. If her captors could do this much, then surely they would have no problem reading whatever people put on the journals.
Once she was finished, Konan picked up her small crafts and her folded clothes. She was going to need to mend them, if only for sentimental value. With both Yahiko and Nagato dead, she had no attachment to the Akatsuki organization. Still, they had founded it together and those memories would give her the strength she needed to eventually find a way to escape. No prison, no matter how talented and powerful the captors, was completely inescapable. She'd simply have to bide her time and learn as much as she could in the meantime.
Remembering what she'd learned of how fragile the wings were, she let some of her remaining paper flutter around the dainty little blue-tipped wings. Harmless as it looked, she could make the paper as hard as steel and shield her wings. Alternately, she could weaponize it and take out anyone who attacked her. Hopefully, neither would be necessary - especially not on her first day here.
